Patrick Süskind entered literature's hall of fame in 1985 with his masterpiece Perfume, a bestseller that captivated audiences across the globe and was translated into 47 languages. Korean readers were no exception. Even now, 20 years after Open Books' first edition of the novel, they continue to be thrilled by the enchanting story of Jean-Baptiste Grenouille.

Open Books has also published all of Süskind's other works, including The Double Bass, which is permanently in the repertory of many theatres in Germany and abroad.
